    How to herd a cat

    • Cats walk away from you. Get behind one and push it where you want it to go.
    • Sneak. Move slowly and cats walk. Charge them and they bolt sideways, climb trees, or hide in hedges.
    • Bark to wake a loafing cat or flush one out of a bush. It also scares everyone else.
    • Grab things. Boxes, sardines and yarn are all very convincing to a cat.
    • Cats don’t walk past you. Stand in a gateway to keep them in.
